Putting the Conservative in Cheerleading

The Washington Redskins cheerleaders face changes to their policies. After many complaints about misconduct and harassment, the rules they used to abide by are now changing. In this Washington Post article, there is a lot of voices missing. Not once in the article do they mention or interview a Redskin cheerleader, or any cheerleader in general. Most of this article is geared towards the sexist encounters and regulations the women had to follow. Their outfits were deemed too inappropriate for "family shows." These football cheerleaders were overly sexualized and placed in a position of exploitation. I am really upset by the content of this article. Not only were these women highly mistreated and under paid, but the actual article itself presents challenges. It was written by a woman, yet the author felt no obligation to actually include the voice of the cheerleaders themselves.
