Sunday isn’t a day for news it’s a day for Jesus and for football. Starting at 12 o’clock in the afternoon every Sunday “Fox NFL Sunday” the most watched pregame show begins coverage coverage for all 32 NFL teams. This picture is the perfect snapshot to describe the NFL and coverage of the NFL. From left to right we have Curt Menefee a sports broadcaster with no NFL experience. His job is to mediate. Next is Terry Bradshaw a retired Pittsburgh Steeler and a Hall of Fame quarterback. Next to him is Howie Long a Hall of Fame defensive end from the Oakland Raiders. Second to the right is Michael Strahan Hall of Fame defensive end from the New York Giants. All the way to the right is future Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez who played tight end for the Atlanta Falcons. So you’ve got four guys who have played and a so called expert to make sure they stay on track while on camera.
Along with the cast on set we’ve got nice dose of product placement with each member having a Microsoft Surface tablet in front of them. The show is clearly sponsored by State Farm and if you didn’t know it by clicking on the channel to begin with you are watching Fox NFL on Fox Sports which is listed not only on every screen but also on the coffee cups placed on the tables.
This show is clearly about making money. It is about the opinion of men who have all achieved at their sport at the highest level.
