Stuart Weitzman x Gigi Hadid

Here is a photo of Gigi Hadid, a well known model, showing off shoes while naked. Stuart Weitzman ad's are known for naked women modeling shoes or other accessories. I really don't understand why a woman has to be naked to model something that is on her feet. This image is sexualizing the female body and adding to our society's rape culture. An ad like this is giving off the idea that in order to wear these shoes we have to be sexy, thin, and white just like Gigi. In a Teen Vogue article, Avery Matera stated, "Gigi Hadid is slaying as the face of shoe brand Stuart Weitzman." Advertisements, especially ones like this one, make us think about the objectification of women in the media.
