The Most Beautiful Girl in the World

After a five-year-old Nigerian girl’s picture when viral, many have begun to call her the most beautiful girl in the world. The Lagos photographer captioned the viral picture, “Oh yes she’s human. She’s also an angel” which has prompted thousands of commenters to question if her beauty is natural or digitally manipulated. The five-year-old is posed in a natural-textured wig and shows maturity far beyond her youth. In addition, the child’s picture came to fruition after a team including a make-up artist, hair stylist, and fashion stylist assembled, causing some to question the appropriateness of the photoshoot. Other pictures of the girl, in a more natural light, have not gone viral. Previously, six-year-old Russian child model, Anastasia Knyazeva, was dubbed the most beautiful girl in the world. While there is some speculation behind this photo, some believe this five-year-old girl is challenging western beauty standards while continuing and expanding the influence of #blackgirlmajic.
