Honor vs. Meltdown

This tweet points out the fact that the media condemns different genders in different ways. When Serena Williams was fighting for her rights during a tennis match, she was deemed as having a meltdown. This is problematic because it enforces the stereotype and ideas that women are irrational and emotional. It paints the picture that her emotions for the best of her rather than her disdain for what the referee did that was wrong. Whereas Brett Kavanaugh, a man accused of sexual assault,  was portrayed as "defending his honor" during the trial. There is a stark difference between how the media frames a man accused of sexual assault and a women competing for a title.
