Kanye + Trump: No excuses but frankenbitting is also to blame

We can be grateful to Twitter for constantly showing us the "coonery" that is Kanye and Trump's relationship, but at the same time, the clips we see on twitter are often a result of frankenbitting. While it is true that Kanye seems oblivious to Trump's racist, classist and sexist bigotry and seems like a sell-out to the Black community, Twitter is not telling us the full story.

Apparently, the hugs that Trump has shared with Kim and Kanye might have a real impact on criminal justice reform. Trump has since agreed that there are sentences that are too long for their small drug offenses and that it is unfairly affecting African Americans. This realization has lead to the FIRST STEP Act which does offer some degree of progressive criminal justice reform.

I still do not believe Trump has the best interest of certain marginalized communities at heart, and that Kanye might be a "coon" to some extent. But what Twitter is not telling us is what conversations happened at that oval office that could of actually been substantial and with a purpose. For example, the story of an inmate who was sentenced unfairly, lice Marie Johnson has led Trump to call her the "most incredible woman" and found her story a good example of the injustices present. Clips repeatedly show Trump and Kanye hugging and in agreement but do not report on the dialogue and potential positive outcomes this notorious relationship might have.

Overall, we rightfully so have no reason to have faith in Trump to treat POCs fairly in his administration, and to some extent Kanye either, and a few comments and mild reforms aren't going to change this feeling of hoplessness. But frankenbitting is definitely contributing to this phenomena.
