On Monday, this photo surfaced of Daniel Craig and his infant daughter. Piers Morgan, a television personality known for celebrity feuds,
criticized Craig for wearing a baby carrier. He teased Craig, saying that he was emasculating himself by caring for his daughter. Immediately after Morgan tweeted about the picture, dads attacked Morgan for his tweet. This tweet was an example of a dangerous stereotype that can discourage dads from being involved in parenting, leaving moms with an unequal share of childbearing duties. It also plays into toxic masculinity and how it can be harmful when men think they need to constantly prove how much of a "man" they are. It doesn't make someone less of a man to wear a baby carrier or be involved in their child's life. Caring for your child, and helping your significant other parent isn't something that should be gendered. Men shouldn't be shamed because they want to participate in the raising of their own children. Child care is something that is seen as unmanly, but we need to change the narrative and make it more acceptable in society for men to be involved in child care.
