The new reboot of "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," called "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" as discussed by
Pilot Viruet of NBC News is exceptionally inclusive in fairly ignored roles within fantasy and horror genres in media. The new cast includes an openly nonbinary character, played by an actor who also identifies as such, an openly pansexual character, and a significantly improved racially diverse cast in comparison to previous editions of the shows in Sabrina's universe. In addition to this, the show is working to use its cultivating power for good, by consistently integrating feminist and intersectional ideas and mores in the plot, character dynamics and writing, without pushing it too aggressively. In comparison to the earlier iterations, what 10-20 years ago would have seemed progressive, but what in actuality was just a standard cast of majority cis, straight, traditionally attractive white women, this new series is making huge strides.
I just started watching this show and the diversity in the cast, issues the characters face, sexuality, and feminist ideas were the first things to stand out to me. A lot of people know and love the original "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" show, this reboot does an amazing job at taking a classic and making it more modern.
