Facebooks "Black People Problem"

Ex Facebook manager Mark S. Luckie wrote a memo before leaving the company addressing the systemic racism in the atmosphere. Luckie, who used to manage Facebooks' entertainment and partnerships team, explained that the nonblack employees alleged that black employees were "hostile and aggressive when sharing thoughts in a way that was different way than others". Luckie also recalled an experience he had at headquarters when a colleague, "would pretend to hide his wallet in his pocket whenever Luckie walked by."

I think this is interesting especially in relation to our class because we often talk about how social media is a medium for modern revolutions in race conversations. Facebook, the biggest platform for people to post their opinions, is ironically internally biased toward black people.
