With talk about a sequel to the Netflix hit, To All The Boys I've Loved Before, comes another addition to the heterosexual romantic comedy movie genre. It seems as though as society becomes more and more fluid in terms of gender and sexuality, the media we see and interact with remains stuck in the past.
There is a problem with the type of media representation we are seeing, or not seeing, in regards to the LGBTQ+ community.

I saw this tweet on Twitter that resembled what most millennials are calling the industry out on: lack of sexual diversity. The systems employing heteropatriarchy constantly reject female sexuality, especially in the lesbian community. Hopefully, we'll see some of it soon.
