Savage x Fenty NYFW: Pregnant Women are People Too
This past week at New York Fashion Week (NYFW), Rihanna came out with her fall line of SavagexFenty Lingerie. Starting out as a singer, Rihanna has turned her name into a multi million dollar brand.
In an article from Harper's Bazaar, the author Erica Gonzales states, "Rihanna’s agenda of inclusivity was only cemented by tonight’s presentation, which proved that people of all shapes and colors—including pregnant women—can rock lingerie."
Rihanna's line has been known for its inclusiveness, and most recently, she's included pregnant models. This inclusion is ground breaking, especially for a lingerie line- but why is this ground breaking? Shouldn't pregnant women be able to wear lingerie too?

I love this piece! It makes me think about how pregnant women still have their own autonomy although they are often viewed as fragile . It is unbelievable to think that pregnant women are left out of so many ads and marketing opportunities that aren't exclusively about pregnant women ; especially, since the image of a pregnant women is extremely powerful and positive in general.
