Love is Love

A 144-page benefit comic book published in 2016, called "Love is Love," has raised $51,000 this year for the Trevor Project. The project is a crisis intervention and suicide prevention organization for young members of the LGBTQ+ community. The New York Times reported that the project was, "originally conceived by the comic book author and screenwriter Marc Andreyko to aid those affected by the mass shooting at Pulse." In an email, Andreyko wrote, "The Trevor Project is a wonderful organization that saves lives, so it is a privilege to make theme the 2018 recipient of our donation." The book it currently in its sixth printing after continuing to resonate with readers. By March 2017, the sales reached $165,000. It was enjoyable to read a quick, wholesome story as opposed to the usual atrocities in the media.

  1. It's awesome that a comic book is contributing to such a good cause. It's also nice to see a form of media that is also very inclusive and portraying people that are part of different groups.
