Terry Crews Receives Apology

The discussion around Terry Crews' bold move to come forward about his experiences with sexual harassment in the midst of the #MeToo movement has been interesting to say the least. As a black male in American society, there is little to no discourse surrounding what he experienced. Male victims of sexual assault, especially in minority communities have hardly any representation in the #MeToo movement, or any other campaign to aid victims. By coming forward, he has created a new form of dialogue, in that it can happen to anyone. Recently, as elaborated on in this Variety article, Terry Crews shared publicly a full apology and resignation that he received from the man who allegedly sexually assaulted him during a party 2 years ago. Although this does not make up for the emotional turmoil Crews may face, it is one small positive sign that others in his position may feel more validated in coming forward.
