The Legacy of "Adventure Time"

Adventure Time has been celebrated for its originality and exploration of themes through animation. Even though this show is targeted towards a younger audience, it address serious issues from mortality to consent. Ever since I was a child I really enjoyed watching this show. I love being able to see characters evolve and have such dynamic roles. What's really special about this particular show and its characters is the fact that even the women in the show have dynamic and special roles. In a Teen Vogue article, Lauren Rearick stated, "It's really important to see that women can be powerful and can run a kingdom and have people look up to them." This show breaks many stereotypes and gives viewers something to actually think about when watching the show. It is important that shows continue to have complex and meaningful storylines in order for children to learn and critically think.
