Alec Baldwin is Donald Trump
In a Hollywood Reporter article from Wednesday, Alec Baldwin was quoted as saying, "Ever since I played Trump, black people love me. They love me. Everywhere I go, black people go crazy. I think it's because they're most afraid of Trump".
Baldwin has been known for his various roles on Saturday Night Live over the years, but more recently he's been known for his role as Donald Trump. The quote from above regarding a Hollywood Reporter article shows how, despite his obvious distaste for our president, Baldwin still fails to define the line between humor, and blatant racism.
While he still shows distaste for the GOP and is quoted saying, "Anything you equate with leadership, they don't have it", he still obviously has not quite grasped what it means to be an ally or his privilege as a white man over the age of 50. Baldwin still perpetuates the attitude and words of the age before #MeToo. He fails to recognize his privilege as a white man, and by saying "black people love me" he is generalizing the opinions of millions of people who very much could not like him.
