Kanye West's Pro-Trump Speech

Kanye West replaced Ariana Grande as a musical performance for SNL. After performing "Ghost Town" with Kid Cudi, West gave a speech. He wore a "MAGA" hat and began the talk by singing, “I wanna cry right now, black man in America, supposed to keep what you’re feelin’ inside right now….”He continued, “The blacks want always Democrats … You know it’s like the plan they did, to take the fathers out the home and put them on welfare … Does anybody know about that? That’s a Democratic plan,” he continued. “There’s so many times I talk to, like, a white person about this and they say, ‘How could you like Trump? He’s racist.’ Well, uh, if I was concerned about racism, I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.”
This made me think about the idea of ultimate attribution error. Kanye West is part of the in-group do to his wealth and power. So, when he acts in this way people don't exactly react surprised or astonished. At the same time, many people question him and the things he says. Many SNL members and people in the audience shook their heads or booed.
