Trump/Kanye 2020?

(I've done two blog posts for this week already but this is just too relevant not to post.)

Kanye West had lunch at the White House with Trump today and the media coverage of that is fascinating by itself - even just scrolling through Twitter/what's trending is enough. This article by TMZ caught my eye because of our discussion about the stereotypes of black men commonly seen in the media. In a heated Instagram post on Thursday, rapper T.I. denounced Kanye's meeting with Trump, saying "But now this shit is next level, futuristic Sambo, Hopping Bob, Stephen off Django ass shit Ye!!!!" The Sambo stereotype is when a black man is portrayed as happy, lazy, and dumb. There are several examples of this on TV and in film but I found this to be an interesting real life example.
