One of the body positive models we talked about La Shaunae, actually set up a modeling agency for body positive models called Inclus Models. In an interview with I-d, La Shaunae talks about how in high school she was picked on and hated herself. When she graduated and found other online body positive people that reflected different styles, she felt empowered to teach younger girls the same. She talks about how young girls see these skinny, pretty models with Eurocentric features and feel like they're ugly because they don't fit that mold. She even comments on why Insatiable needs to go. This is just an example of how social media has given the body positive movement a new platform to express themselves on instead of relying on traditional media and modeling to either symbolically annihilate them or cast them as the comic relief.
