Newly-elected Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez was criticized on Twitter for "not looking like she struggles [financially]" after reports were published stating that the Congresswoman could not afford to move to D.C. until January, when her congressional salary is implemented.
Eddie Scarry, a Washington Examiner reporter, tweeted this and soon deleted it, after it went viral and people everywhere were supporting Cortez.
This whole response to Scarry's misconstrued comments shows how supported Cortez is. She is a relatable woman, to which the real public can actually connect with her and picture themselves in a position of power. This tweet shows how systematic class is, especially in the US government, where congressmen are not new to wealth.
