Symbolic Annihilation of the Black Hero

In the Chicago suburbs of Robbins, Illinois, a predominately black area, a security guard was shot by the cops when restraining a gunman. A drunken man got kicked out of the bar the security guard worked at. The man returned with a gun and started shooting. The security guard restrained the man and held a gun to him, in order to stop the shooting from continuing. When the white police officer got there, he immediately shot the security guard, even though he wore a security shirt. However, we don't see the heroism and selflessness of the security guard getting national attention. This is due to America's inability to see people of color as the hero. The NRA makes comments about doctor's not posting photos on social media of blood from shootings but doesn't make a comment about a hero lost.
